Editorial policy

Clear instructions, verifiable sources, and honest recommendations.

What makes a page worth publishing

Every article must be relevant to our readers, supported by verifiable information, and useful beyond a summary of another article.

Review before publication

Publication requires authorization from the site owner or an assigned editor. Our launch articles were prepared with AI assistance and checked against the linked source material. This source check is not a hands-on device test or an independent expert review. A named reviewer is credited only when that person has performed a review.

Material changes require renewed authorization. A publication date records when a page first appeared; an updated date reflects a meaningful change. Platform announcements retain a separate source date so an older announcement is not presented as breaking news.

Testing claims

We describe something as tested only when the article has supporting evidence. Devices, software versions, and limitations should be recorded. A proposed test is never described as a completed one.

Our own apps

SFByte develops apps. A recommendation for an owned app includes an ownership disclosure. Product ownership does not replace the need to explain when a method is useful.
